I’ve been trying to remember things to include in a random Friday post and this time I have a few things to share, including Simon’s birthday, our family visitors, etc.
[one]
We celebrated Simon’s birthday and he said he wanted pancakes for dinner. Gabbie and Zachary both said that was weird, but they ate them anyway! Then we had a cookie cake that Zachary picked out after work.
We had a family movie night and watched European Vacation – I can’t remember the last time all of us watched a movie together!

We had family visitors last weekend and they also bought a birthday cake for Simon. Unplanned by us, a huge group of the kids’ friends came to our house after synagogue on Saturday, so we had the cake then. The teens usually hang out together every week, but not usually at our house, and I’m not sure if it’s usually such a large group! It was cute.

The reason our family came was because our brother-in-law is donating a Torah to our synagogue. It is the smallest Torah I’ve ever seen. We had a celebration to welcome it to the synagogue.
The kids always have fun with their cousins!

Dave and his parents took the boys to Kohl’s to try on suits for their cousin’s wedding. For some reason, Simon brought his friend with them too. They sent me this picture:

Speaking of Simon being amusing, this came up in my Facebook memories. I had just been talking about it too.

And speaking of friends…this first picture is from Gabbie’s 7th birthday party and the second one is from this week. The girl on the left in the current picture (she’s on the right in the older picture) moved away but is in town for her cousin’s bat mitzvah, so they had a reunion with her. It’s so cute they’ve been friends for so long!
Have a great weekend!
