Today I’m linking up with Marsha for the August 10 on the 10th link up. This month we have questions all about summer.
1. Tell us about your favorite summer vacation. Now, tell us about a vacation gone wrong!
I have really enjoyed our trips to National Parks. The first one we did was to Yellowstone, and then to the parks in Utah. We also visited the Smoky Mountains on another trip. I think my favorite was Utah!
I would say our most recent trip was a vacation gone wrong, thanks to the bed bug we found. Thankfully we did not bring any home with us.
2. Share an activity from your summers as a kid, but now you wouldn’t even consider trying it.
I went to day camp as a kid and we spent the entire day outside, unless it was raining. I think it had to be less hot and humid then, because there’s no way I could do that now! Also, we had a great time raspberry picking in the forest, but when I was about 12 I ended up with poison ivy. After that, I wasn’t able to go in the forest anymore.
3. Is there something you love to wear in the summer, but would never wear in the colder months?
Sure, all my summer things like shorts and flip flops. I try to wear my flip flops as long as I can, but my feet do get cold if it’s not warm enough outside.
4. Spill the tea! What summer beverage do you need to make it through the day? What beverage wouldn’t grace your table ever during the summer?
I basically just drink water! I don’t usually indulge in hot chocolate, but if I did, it wouldn’t be during the summer.
5. When you were a kid, is there something you did that kids today would think was a complete waste of time? Is there something kids do today that you find a lost cause?
The only thing I can think of is that I used to make a ton of friendship bracelets. I don’t think my kids would consider it a waste of time though! As for today’s kids, I guess I wish Zachary would get out of the house more, while he prefers playing games on his computer. It’s ok though, since he was away for a long time and it’s almost back to school time!
6. Share a summer movie you watch as often as you can. What summer movie do you wish had never been filmed?
I can’t even think of what would be considered a summer movie! I rarely watch movies, much less watch them often. And I don’t have any grudges against any summer movies that I can think of!
7. Tell us about your current favorite summer song. Now tell us about a song that instantly takes you back to your childhood?
I don’t have a current favorite summer song! I don’t really listen to a lot of newer music to know what’s popular right now. As for songs that remind me of my childhood, there are a few that remind me of my summers at camp including Baby Got Back, Right Here Right Now, It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye, and Somewhere Out There.
8. Time to spill the tea again! Are you a bikini type person? Or do you only dip your toes in the water in a one piece?
I cannot wear a bikini for a variety of reasons. I could possible wear a tankini, but it would have to be long enough to cover my stomach, as I have a large scar there that I don’t wish to show off.
9. Share a favorite summer recipe you love to fix over and over again. Now, what recipe did you try one summer and and will never attempt again?
I can’t think of many recipes that I love to fix, but I have made smoothies a few times this summer. One summer, Gabbie took an online cake making class and made some very complicated cake – I don’t think we’ll ever attempt that again!
10. What is your absolute favorite summer smell? What summer smell makes you want to vomit?
I like the smell of sunscreen. But I hate the smell of Avon Skin so Soft!
Tell me your answer to any of these!
