September sped by – I can’t believe we’re about to be into the last three months of this year. Here’s a look back at our September.
Daily Life
At the beginning of the month, Dave and I visited my parents in Florida. Once we got back, I adjusted to only having one kid at home! I had some meet and greets with dogs I’ll watch this weekend and the one after, and had a few dogs stay as well. I’m having some dog free days now that summer travel is done! I’m also working at the preschool where I’ve been substituting one afternoon a week.
School
Simon has been trying very hard to achieve all A’s, because Dave told him he could get his license if he does. (He is 15 and at 15 here you can get a restricted license, where you can drive to school, work, etc, but we didn’t let our older kids get there licenses till they turned 16). He started out doing well, but now has B’s in Chemistry and Algebra – which is obviously still good! But he was upset about it. We wanted to meet with his teachers prior to conference time, but the learning specialist forgot about the meeting and we had to just meet with her, rather than with his teachers too.
Zachary is doing really well in Israel. I talk to him on FaceTime once a week, but he texts me too. He was with my sister-in-law this weekend and she said he has no complaints. Here he is on the roof (or balcony) of his building:
Activities
I took part in even more activities this month – I went to the art museum and to the community garden. Both were nice times.
Simon had his first debate team event and has gone to a few youth group activities as well. We also still volunteer at the school cafe once a week.
Health
After I mentioned my weight was staying steady, I gained again. I made a physical appointment but it’s not till January. I had my yearly mammogram and everything is clear again, phew.
TV
I watched the first season of Your Honor, a show I came across randomly. I liked it at first but I’m not sure I’ll watch the second season. The shows I normally like to watch each week are starting to come back.
I’ve also watched two Chiefs games. One they lost and one they won. I was getting nervous if they couldn’t beat the Giants! (sorry to my father!) Here’s my snuggle buddy watching with me:
Reading
I still feel like my reading is a bit slower than normal (for me) but the month isn’t over yet! I’ll be sharing my 5 star reads tomorrow.
Coming Up
We just celebrated Rosh Hashanah this week and the rest of the holidays are coming up. After they end, I’m going back to Florida to see my parents again, and from there I’m going to NY for Dave’s cousin’s daughter’s wedding. (Should I just call her my cousin?) We’ll get to see Gabbie then too!
How was your September?
