It’s the end of yet another month – with one weekend to go – and again, it seems like it went by fast and slow at the same time! Probably because there are 5 weekends in April, it seems especially long! Here’s a look back at what we’ve been up to lately!
Daily Life
The first two weeks of the month were the boys’ spring break and Passover. Gabbie had school, which she had to miss on the holiday days of Passover. She also had a dance competition with one more to go the first weekend of May. Our dog friends stayed with us for about a week, but now we have no doggie residents for a bit, which is good, because things are super busy with the school year winding down!
Our living room renovation was finished, and you can see it here!
Birthdays
We celebrated Gabbie turning 18! She had a couple friends over for a movie and cake too.
School
As I’m sure you saw, Gabbie finally chose a school to attend next year! I’m trying not to get too overwhelmed, but I think the next steps are finding a roommate and registering for classes! Meanwhile, we are planning her graduation party. This week, the school had the senior signing ceremony, where they announced the students’ plans for next year. About half the class participated and it was interesting to see where everyone decided to attend.
Notice anything different about Gabbie? She got contacts! She is only planning to wear them for special occasions at this point.
Activities
Like I mentioned, Gabbie had one dance competition this month. I wasn’t able to see her groups perform because it was at the same time as our friend’s bar mitzvah party. So I plan to be at all of them for her next and last competition. Next week is her school dance show, as well as Zachary’s play. I’m going to one showing of the play and two of the dance show since Gabbie is graduation and Zachary doesn’t mind! This weekend, Simon has a youth group weekend away, which he is looking forward to. He was annoyed last week when the 8th graders were allowed to attend the high school event – and he is only in 7th grade. He hung out with another 7th grader though!
Health / Fitness
I took a few weeks off from the gym due to a cold and Passover, but I’m back to going again. Some days I walk and some days I walk and do barre class. My weight is still stuck though!
Today I’m taking Simon to the dermatologist because he has a strange rash on the tops of his feet. I thought it went away for awhile but then it came back. He says it hurts too.
TV
I got behind on my shows again due to Passover, but I’m sure I’ll be out of things to watch as the seasons wind down so it’s ok that I’m behind as long as I don’t get spoiled!
Books
I read a lot during the first half of this month and you can see those reviews here. I will share my favorites of the month so far on Friday.
Coming Up
Stay tuned for pictures from Gabbie’s upcoming school shows and recital, Zachary’s play, graduation, and more!
