It’s the end of January (almost) so it’s time to look back at our month in review. It’s always weird when I write this post before the actual end of the month, but here’s what we’ve been up to so far!
Daily Life
We made it home from Florida on January 1 – I haven’t made it to that part of my recap posts yet, but we were effected by the Southwest shut down of all flights so we were stuck there four extra days. Luckily, the kids didn’t have to miss school because they didn’t go back until the 3rd / 5th. But…Zachary had gone from Florida to NY for a youth group program and he came back with the flu, so he was out of school all week. And Gabbie picked up lice somewhere along the way and had to miss her first day back because she was getting them removed. The rest of us stayed well this time!
Since then, it’s been school for all and dance for Gabbie, a few youth group events, and our dog friends Ozzie and Duncan are back to hang out with us this week!
School
I posted the kids’ mid year school update here.
Activities
Gabbie has had lots of dance and we attended her Competition Showcase. Dave and I also went to her Journalism Showcase, where she showed off the board she made featuring some of her best photography. The boys have kept busy with various youth group activities and Simon had two friends over before they went ice skating with the group.
Health / Fitness
I talked about my new fitness routine on Friday. I go walk on the track and then to a core strengthening type class. I’ve cut back on snacking. I’ve lost some weight but then it bounces up again every few days, which doesn’t make sense to me.
TV
Gabbie and I watched the new season of Emily in Paris and I started watching the reboot of Criminal Minds. I always loved that show, so it’s fun to see some of the same characters again.
Books
While my reading started slowly this month (only 3 books in my first half review!) I have read a bunch to share in this week’s favorite post, so that should be fun.
Photography
I decided not to continue 52 Frames and I like not having that weekly stress about coming up with a good photo for the theme. I do want to keep taking pictures and using my camera! This month was mostly all dance photography here.
Blog
I’ve been sharing about our Florida trip – Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 are up. I posted a 2022 Year in Review, a list of books on my radar for 2023, a brief introduction to me, a would you rather 10 on the 10th, and a list of new to me authors in 2022.
This is sort of a boring post with no photos – I don’t have anything new to share!
How was your January?
