This is Gabbie’s 7th year doing dance competitions and this Sunday we got to attend the Competition Showcase, where we can see the dances that will be performed during competition season. This year there are 40 dances in total! Gabbie is in 4 of them – tap, hip hop, modern, and her lyrical solo.
The tap team has 5 dancers and their song is called Bones.
Gabbie’s solo is to a song called Lost. I wasn’t able to get pictures of all of it because someone was in the way in the audience!
The hip hop song is called Poison Lose Control and Gabbie said they weren’t quite prepared to perform, plus one girl left early and she was supposed to partner with Gabbie for some of the parts!
The last dance is to Life on Mars by David Bowie, but they just call it Bowie for some reason. It’s a modern dance, and it replaced the usual jazz and lyrical team dances.
It should be fun to watch the teams and solos perform at competitions!
