Happy Friday! Today’s Random Friday post is really just a collection of random things. I couldn’t think of a title to sum it all up.

In the dog visitor area, my friends needed a last minute place for their dog for the weekend, so he came over just before Gabbie left.
Then through Rover I had two day care dogs last week. The first one is scared of people, but this was his second time here and he let me pet him!

Did I mention that Simon got his learner’s permit? This is crazy to me because he’s only 14 and we didn’t let the older two get their permits so early! He’s already been driving a lot with Dave. I don’t do the driving with the kids thing until they are way more experienced!

On Labor Day, Dave, Simon, and I went to the Royals game. They lost, but it was fun to be there after not having been to a game in awhile!

Our school has a program where they pray for a certain soldier each day, and our nephew was the soldier of the day a few weeks ago.
We were also very saddened by the loss of Hersh, whose mother has been a tireless advocate for her son as well as the rest of the hostages. Hersh was an American citizen and it is appalling how little people seemed to care.

We went to a local ice cream store and they had this fun Taylor / Travis ice cream flavor. I took the picture to send it to Gabbie.
As another sweet treat, Dave brought this delicious cookies back from Memphis.

The boys went to a wood burning art class and made these challah boards. Simon’s is on the left and Zachary’s on the right.

The boys invited their friends over to watch the presidential debate. So I watched it with 6 teens. It was interesting to hear their reactions and see how aware they were of various political things (some more than others). The 6th kid is not in the picture.
Have a great weekend!
