After our previous foster dog, Xena, was adopted, we got to bring home Meg! We are having a good time meeting new dogs and giving them homes while they wait for their adoptions. Here she is on Petfinder.
Meg is on the smaller side of a big dog. She seems to be a lab / shepherd mix, with maybe some other breeds in there too. She is more chocolate colored than black and has some lighter fur around her shoulders.
Meg has super soft fur on her head and she loves being petted. She gets so excited when she sees us and bangs her tail into the floor and everything she passes.
She is supposedly an older dog, but she has a lot of energy and acts young. She loves being outside and will stand by the door to be let out, but instead of it being because she needs to go out, she just wants to lie down in the grass. She is happy to go on walks but she needs some help walking nicely – she tries to chase after every squirrel she sees (and we have way too many of them in our neighborhood!) She does understand when she is told no.
I love the way she lies with one paw underneath her!
If you’re petting her and stop, she will nudge you with her nose or paw. Every once in awhile she’ll go around and check on all of us!
I haven’t heard her bark at all, but when she gets excited she makes a yipping sound. She is friendly with people and hasn’t gotten too excited by other dogs. She is house trained and if she’s outside and wants to come in, she scratches on the door. She will often come up to me to be pet!
I don’t think it will be long before Meg finds her furrever home!
