Last week, we celebrated Zachary’s birthday by staying over at the Great Wolf Lodge. We live 20 minutes away from the Kansas City, KS location, so it was an easy getaway for us to head to for one night. Zachary chose to go there instead of having a party and I think he enjoyed it!
We arrived around 1 PM on the day of our check in, because that is when we were told we would be able to access the water park. As it turned out, our room was also ready when we arrived, so we got settled and headed down to play.
The kids hopped into the lazy river to start out.
Next we checked out the slides. There were three tube slides and 2 body slides. The boys went on the tube slides over and over for the rest of the day. I went on all of them too, but not as many times!
The kids also liked the lily pads, where they had to try to get across the pool without falling in.
There was also an outdoor pool area. We didn’t spend that much time outside, but I did head out to take a picture of the sunset that night!
We brought our own food for dinner, but we did buy ice cream!
At night, the boys took part in a Mario Kart race in the lobby.
On the morning of Zachary’s actual birthday, we went to Starbucks and then came back for more water park time! And then we headed back home, but not before a stop at Krispy Kreme because it was National Donut Day!
I think Zachary had a great birthday!
