July feels like it was a very long month! I took care of dogs, the boys were away for a week, and it was hot out. It’s starting to feel like the summer is winding down, which is sort of stressful! Here’s a look back at July.
Daily Life
My regular schedule includes dog care, errands, reading, making lunches, picking up Gabbie, going to the gym, and more reading. This month I watched a former foster dog, my friend’s dog for one night, a very difficult dog from Rover, two easier dogs from Rover, and now our other friends’ dog is here. He is easy, but he loves his walks.
We also went swimming at a friends’ pool on July 4.
Activities
The kids have been keeping busy. Besides Simon and Zachary spending a week in Iowa, all three kids spend time with their friends pretty often. Their friends entertain me sometimes too. Gabbie and Zachary are still working this week and next week too.
Health
Besides taking Zachary to the dentist and Gabbie to the doctor for her run in with a dog’s teeth, I had to see my doctor for a possible tick bite. I thought it was a mosquito bite at first, but then it was bright red, and my dad suggested it sounded like a tick bite. I had Lyme disease when I was 17, and apparently there is no Lyme here, but there are other tick borne diseases. So while the doctor wasn’t sure if it was a tick bite or not, I had some antibiotics just in case. Now the spot is just about faded.
TV
I’ve been watching the Billy Joel documentary called And So It Goes and loving it. It’s so interesting and having been a life long fan, there are still things I didn’t know about his life. I’m up to things I remember, like his latest two albums, his break up with Christie Brinkley, etc, his 1994 Grammy’s appearance, etc. I don’t want it to end!
I also started The Hunting Wives. I didn’t love the book but the adaptation is certainly interesting.
Reading
While the month started with a few books I didn’t love, I shared the books I did love last week and will be sharing the rest of what I read this month on Friday!
Coming Up
Zachary’s canceled trip is now happening in another week. He’s going to Israel for 10 days, coming home for 10 days, and then leaving for the year. I have to get him all the things he needs still! Gabbie will be leaving for school while he is gone, and then it’s back to school for Simon too. I find the transitions to be hard! I will be watching familiar dogs all month, and I’m thinking about starting a website or at least an instagram account for my dog care business. Should I?
How was your July?
