Back in NYC again, we decided to check out the Met. It brought back memories for me of visiting as a kid on school trips! It’s huge, so it helps to know what you want to see. First, we walked through Central Park on our way there, and saw these nice horses.
Outside the Met
We headed to the Egypt display, which was pretty interesting. (The knights were cool too)
Alexander Hamilton
I remember this George Washington painting from when we learned about the Revolutionary War in 3rd grade.
The kids recognized this one from the state capitol in Kansas.
I think these are from the American Art areas.
Then we looked at famous artists we’ve all heard of, plus some Middle Eastern and Modern Art on the way.
Some of the art above was by Gauguin – I remember we did a project in school on these artists and mine was Gauguin. Then we went to the Met to see the art!

And then it was back to NJ to spend time with family!
