Happy Wednesday! Today I’m joining in for the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce.
1. What’s a characteristic you admire in others? Elaborate.
I admire when people are easy going, go with the flow type people. I also admire those with great metabolisms. Or maybe it is less admiration and more envy.
2. Do you have a favorite mug? Let’s see it. Why is this one your favorite?
I went through a Rae Dunn phase and the mug I use daily is Rae Dunn and says Laugh. I like it for the size! I could use any of my Rae Dunn mugs for their size, but I just happen to stick with this one. Here’s a random old picture with this mug in it:

3. July 15th is/was National Give Something Away Day…will you (or did you, depending on what day you answer these questions) give something away? If so what? Do you regularly give away or do you tend to ‘accumulate’?
I like giving things to people! I’d much rather give directly than leave donations in a donation box, but I do that sometimes too. Most recently, I gave two graphic novels to my friend’s two adorable nieces. I hope they like them, though they might still be a bit young for them!
4. You’re planning a trip. Do you prefer exploring big cities or smaller, more off the grid towns? World Atlas lists these 12 ‘off the grid’ towns to see in 2025. How many on the list have you seen? Of those listed which one would you most like to visit? Tell us why?
Fun! I usually travel to bigger cities, although we sometimes stay in towns along the way, I suppose. I should have stopped in Boothbay Harbor when we were in Maine! I have been to New Hope, PA. As a NJ native, I wouldn’t consider it so much off the grid actually! But it’s definitely a cool place to visit. I have been to Hearst Castle, so I guess I’ve been near Cambria, CA, but I’m not sure if I was in the town or not. I’ve heard of many of the other towns, but haven’t been to them.
5. Have you ever…ridden a motorcycle? been to a Disney park? met a celebrity? won a contest? Tell us something about whatever you answered yes to on this list.
No, yes, yes, not a big one! Disney is the one I’ve done the most of. I haven’t ever randomly met a celebrity, but I did meet Tony Goldwyn outside of the stage door when I saw him on Broadway.
Oh – a contest win – Zachary won a year of international cell service for his gap year! I’m so excited about this!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
This past week, we watched a dog from Rover. He was kind of crazy. On the first night, he went under our fence and took a few laps around the nearby houses. From then on, I had to always walk him on a leash, rather than let him run in the yard. On Sunday, he ran into Gabbie with his teeth. He wasn’t being aggressive or intending to bite her, but he did break the skin. We saw the doctor and she had a tetanus shot and was put on antibiotics. When I let the family know, they decided to pick up the dog early (the wife is away, the husband was working night shifts and didn’t want to leave the dog, but was not as busy as expected). So, I feel like a dog sitting failure, but I’m happy for a few dog free days until our next guests arrive. I hope they aren’t as difficult. I might have to turn off my Rover bookings again.
Tell me your answer to any of these!
