This summer went by quickly! It was an interesting one, with the kids coming and going, and I thought it would be fun to take a look back.
May
Gabbie came home in the middle of May. We went to a Bar Mitzvah party and graduation parties.

We celebrated Shavuot and Dave’s birthday. Dave and I went to Chicago.
I had a lot of doctor’s appointments. Gabbie left to go back to Amherst for her research program.
June
Zachary came home and the next day we went to our friend’s funeral. I had to postpone a doctor’s appointment which I finally went to this week. Then we celebrated Zachary’s birthday and his friends came over for lunch. We went to the car show and started test driving cars. We still haven’t gotten a new one.
Dave and I went to the World Cup Fanfest. The boys went camping with their friends. Dave, Simon, and I went to the Paul Simon concert. Simon studied with one of his teachers for about 2 hours per day and they finished a chapter of Talmud.

Zachary worked and Simon left for his summer trip.

July
We had friends over for lunch and celebrated the 4th of July. Dave and I went to Florida to help out my dad and to see my mom. Just Zachary was at home for a few weeks, and then he went to NJ and hung out with his cousins. He went to Great Adventure and he went fishing. Gabbie came home after her program ended. Simon traveled and he and Zachary came home.
Dave, Zachary, and I saw the steam engine Big Boy.

Dave, Gabbie, and I went to a KC Current game.

August
We hosted two boys for the Maccabi Games. Our own kids were working and / or volunteering during that week. We went to a Royals game.

We went to a bat mitzvah.

The boys hung out with their friends and went to Worlds of Fun together.

Simon turned 16 and got his license. We had his friends over for dinner.

Zachary left to go back to Israel.

Simon drove himself to drop in day at school.

11th grade started on Wednesday.

Other Things
Summer started and ended with Simon and Gabbie at home.
I took part in a fitness challenge at the gym.
I watched a bunch of dogs.
It was hot. The only time I went swimming was in Florida.
The kids went to movies, concerts, work, and spent time with friends.
Summer started with Zachary’s birthday and ended with Simon’s.
Overall, it felt like a good summer! How was your summer?
