A little look at my life lately in July.
When my friend was away, her dog stayed with me, and I also did drop in visits for her cats. They are so sweet!

When I had friends over on July 4, I made this vegetable platter. It was pretty, but not many people chose to eat from it!

We went to see fireworks that night.

On Sunday, on the phone with my dad, I realized that there had been a miscommunication as to when he was having his surgery. I swear he told me it was on the 14th, and it was actually on the 7th. Everything had been planned for us to go there on the 13th, Zachary was coming with us, and Gabbie was going to meet us there as well, but all of that had to be scrapped. With the additional cost of a last minute booking, but luckily just for myself because I have a companion pass for Dave, we headed to Florida this week instead of next week, just the two of us. My mantra these days is “things work out,” and while it was stressful, this change of plans was for the best in the end.
Have you ever seen a rainbow from above?

My dad was very anxious about the surgery and he can be quite demanding and not exactly a great patient, but in my opinion things went well and he is doing much better than he was when I was last there! We also visited my mom in the memory care location where she lives now, which went fine, I suppose. In December, we will be back with Gabbie and Simon too.
Dave and I went to a few restaurants and had some good meals for dinners.

We were also able to go swimming while we were there, and we took walks at night when it was a little (but not much) cooler outside.
Doesn’t this frog look like a pickle?
I was happy our flights home were smooth!
Have a great weekend!
