If you’ve been reading along, we’ve made it to the big event – my nephew’s wedding! His wedding was supposed to be earlier, but due to the war, they had to postpone. Luckily, they were able to have it where they wanted and on the date they had rescheduled to. We arrived while they were taking photos, so I got some myself.

These are photos of my nephew and family, minus the bride! The little girls are the groom’s brother’s kids. This is my favorite photo:

Zachary took these photos of Dave and me:

All of us, minus Gabbie (still sad she wasn’t there!):

Simon:

The large family group photo we were in:

I took pictures of food at the cocktail hour. It was arranged with various areas for types of food and everything was good!

At the ceremony (and photos with the bride!):

The party was quite wild and it was hard for me to get near the dance floor without risk of being trampled! The boys seemed to have fun though.
My brother-in-law is Bukharian and these are traditional robes they put on at various celebrations.
All of the friends had these shirts and I really wanted one!

Near the end, they said it was the after party and things were super loud, so we ended up outside, taking photos with the family. Dave’s other sister had flown in just before the time of the wedding and drove to the wrong place! But she made it!

The next day was our last day and we flew home at night, so we had the day still. We had a really good breakfast.

We did some last minute shopping and I got a photo of this street art I had seen on a different day. Zachary said it was hard to get a photo because of the time of day or whether it was cloudy, but I got it. It’s the words of a song and they reflect onto the street.

We went to Zachary’s new dorm building and met with his rabbi to discuss his plans for next year. We went back to the apartment to pack up and Dave brought Zachary back to the dorm with the stuff that he’d brought over – most of his things were moved in already. In his new dorm he has three roommates and bunk beds and somehow he was the last one to arrive so he got a top bunk. He said it’s fine though. We said goodbye to him at that point.

We decided to go to Dave’s sister’s house to say goodbye to everyone there before our flight. We stopped at the Israel National Library, since it was pretty new and we’d never seen it.

After we said goodbye to everyone, we headed to the airport. The flight home wasn’t as bad as the one there, especially since it was overnight and I was able to sleep somewhat! We landed in NYC and transferred airports, then we flew to St. Louis and had a long wait there for another short flight home.
That ends my trip diary, thanks for reading along!
