I am now up to Thursday, April 9 in my trip diary! Thanks for following along. It was the day after Passover which meant eating was back to normal – and since we now had a ceasefire, everything else was back to normal too. Everything opened up, kids went back to school, the streets were full again, and Dave really wanted to go to the Western Wall (Kotel), so that’s where we headed first. Zachary was there ahead of us – I think because he went to his dorm to work on packing up since they were moving in a few more days.
On the way.

I like to take photos of all the various people there. And then I bonded with a Kotel Cat.

More people photos:

If you stay there long enough, you see all sorts of things. Like a random lady blowing a shofar (above).

I took a picture of Zachary’s building from below, since I had previously taken photos of the Kotel from there.

Obligatory selfie:

Walking back:
All kinds of people!
I was avoiding the street where I fell last time, but we walked on it and I took a photo. See how the sidewalk slopes a bit before the door? That’s where I slipped.

After this exciting morning, we took the train to Tel Aviv. The train is much faster than driving! Outside of the station we saw this colorful sculpture.

We went to an indoor market to get lunch. Dave and I had tacos, I think. Simon had Moroccan food. I don’t remember what Zachary had.

After we ate, we took the bus to the beach and we walked along the beach from Tel Aviv to Jaffa.
Simon checked out the exercise equipment.

In Jaffa:

We headed back to Jerusalem and that evening we met up with some of the kids from Kansas that are in Israel this year and we ate dinner with them.

It was cute to see them excited to see each other – some are together and some hadn’t seen each other in a few weeks or longer. After dinner, Dave and the guys continued on together while the only girl who was there walked with me back towards where I was staying.

So, that was our Thursday! More next time!
