On the last full day of our trip, the kids and I decided to finally check out Summit One Vanderbilt, which had been on my list for a while! It was super hot outside and we managed to travel into the city and to the building entrance without going outside, but it was still really hot inside the subway corridors! Luckily, the building itself was nice and cool.
It isn’t cheap to go to the top of One Vanderbilt, but we found that it wasn’t just a place to get a good view of NYC, it was also a fun experience! The floor and ceiling are mirrored, there are balls to play with, etc. We stayed up there for a long time, which made the cost worthwhile.
This was some kind of special effect of my face:
The sunglasses were given to us to protect our eyes, but Simon wasn’t wearing his when we were there, and it turns out he didn’t give them back either. Here he is hanging out at my in-laws’ house after we got back!
I’m glad we finally got to check this out!
