Welcome to the Share Our Lives link up hosted by myself, Adrienne, Jen, Joanne, and Sarah! We are sharing our lives this year on the second Monday of each month, and this month’s prompt is 5 Things We Like to Do in Winter / Spring / Summer / Fall, or as I’m calling it, 5 Things I Like To Do In Each Season.
[fall]
(photo from last year, it doesn’t look like this yet!)
Let’s start with fall, since we’re on the approach to fall now. The weather is cooling off and soon the leaves will start to fall. In fall, I like to:
1. Celebrate the Jewish holidays, beginning with Rosh Hashanah and continuing through Sukkot and Simchat Torah. This year, Rosh Hashanah begins in the evening of Sept. 22, just on time for the first day of fall! (And Thanksgiving! I forgot to mention Thanksgiving!)
2. Watch football – go Chiefs! I was not able to watch the first game due to it being on a Friday night, so I’m looking forward to this coming Sunday, and hoping it’s not a repeat of the Superbowl.
3. Create new outfits – somehow fall always leads me to thinking about my wardrobe. I really want to clear out all my clothes and just have basic fall staples, but I never actually do that!
4. Read thrillers – fall just seems like thriller season, although I read them all year!
5. Take a walk in the leaves.
[winter]

Winter is still my least favorite season, but there is something nice about snow – at least before it gets to be too much or too many days in a row! In the winter, I like to:
1. Get cozy.
2. Go to Florida for winter break. It’s fun to escape the cold weather!
3. Stay inside.
4. Watch more football.
5. Enjoy staying at home for a snow day.
[spring]

I love when it starts getting warm again! In the spring, I like to:
1. Take walks without being cold.
2. Celebrate Purim and Passover.
3. Celebrate Gabbie’s birthday.
4. See the flowers blooming.
5. Count down till the end of school.
[summer]

Summer was always my favorite season growing up, but it’s harder now to enjoy the hot weather! In the summer, I like to:
1. The pool – I used to like swimming a lot more than I do now, but I got in the pool twice this summer!
2. Go on a family trip somewhere.
3. Stay inside.
4. Relax and worry less about things like school!
5. Celebrate Simon’s and Zachary’s birthdays.
A quote:
I wanted to share this quote about seasons from The Correspondent:
“There are, by definition, four seasons that repeat in measured pattern year after year. As there is no such rhythm in the human life, I have to think that when it comes to seasons, we all get one round. We are born and grow through childhood in spring. We live those glorious, lively, interesting years of our twenties, thirties, forties, in summer. We settle into ourselves in autumn, that cool but not yet cold time, rich and aromatic. And in winter we age (brutally) and die.”
If you posted about 5 things you like to do in winter/summer/fall/spring, you can link up with us here, and come back next month when we’re sharing our go to snacks.
What are some things you like to do each season?
