Happy Wednesday! Today I’m joining in for the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce.
1. May 20th is World Bee Day…what’s something that’s kept you ‘busy as a bee’ lately?
All the end of school things, keeping track of who needs to be where when, plus my kids are helping out with a friend’s kids so I’ve been paying attention to where they are too.
2. Do you like honey? What’s something you make or enjoy that calls for honey?
I do. My brother-in-law actually has bees and makes honey, which is really good.
3. “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” Proverbs 16:24
What’s a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way?
The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as ‘a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice’.
I looked up some common proverbs and found this one: “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today” and I remembered when my English teacher wrote it on the board, but he wrote “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can…” so it was funny.
One that speaks to me is “everything happens for a reason.”
4. Tell us about a ‘sweet’ moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace.
Probably Zachary’s graduation. More than a moment, but very sweet! Here’s the professional photo I said I’d share!
5. When you were a child, what did you want to ‘be’ when you grew up? How close did you come to that?
My original idea was to be a doctor because I liked my doctor. I soon realized that wasn’t for me. The next thing I said I wanted to be was a writer.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
My calendar is filling up for dog visitors over the summer! Most are dogs I’ve watched before that belong to friends and one is a new Rover client. I met him on Monday and he seemed good. I hope to not have much anxiety about that – sometimes when a new dog comes I worry about how they will behave!
Tell me your answer to any of these!
