Last week, Dave and I went with Gabbie to move into UMass for sophomore year. This time we didn’t have as many bags to bring with us because Gabbie had stored a lot of things with some students who live at a house near campus. We flew to Hartford and stayed overnight there, continuing on to UMass in the morning. This year I saw a lot less of campus as compared to last year, being limited in my ability to walk around, so most of these pictures are just of Gabbie’s room!
Here is the room before we picked up most of her things.
The bin we filled with her things:
This year Gabbie was part of the group that welcomes new students at the Jewish student organization’s orientation. She moved in early for that, and was busy with that so setting up her room took a lot of extra time. I tried to help, but we didn’t get very much done, besides a trip to Target, after which we realized even more storage was needed. Dave went back to Target with Gabbie in the morning.
Her dorm and the one on campus picture I took:
After we left, Gabbie sent me pictures of her room.
She sent me this picture with her roommate, and her roommate’s mom also sent me the picture, which I thought was sweet of her!
I hope they both have a great year! Classes start today. I am not sure what classes Gabbie is taking due to a snag with her schedule and her indecision about her major. She is still a journalism major, although she has gone back and forth about switching or adding math, and now she seems to be leaning towards something with marketing. So hopefully she will be able to add a marketing class to her schedule!
