Today I’m linking up with Marsha for the 10 on the 10th link up. This month she has given us a prompt – things we liked or disliked about school.
1. As a young kid, I probably did like school. I don’t really remember. It’s funny the things that stand out are the times I felt singled out or different. I didn’t love that I was the only Jewish kid in my elementary school grade all the way until junior high.
2. I liked when our teachers read to us. I especially remember my 4th grade teacher because she did a wonderful job expressing all of the characters. She read us Roald Dahl and Judy Blume.
3. I didn’t like my teachers in 3rd grade or 5th grade. 5th grade was hard!
4. I didn’t like the way the other kids treated me in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades.
5. I liked band and my band teacher in junior high.
6. I did not like running in gym class.
7. High school was long and hard for me, especially around friendships. I didn’t like science and math classes, I liked English and some electives more.
8. I loved high school graduation.
9. I loved college.
10. I went to grad school and probably made the wrong career choice. I loved one of my professors who did an excellent job supporting me!
