Happy Wednesday! Today I’m joining in for the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce.
1. June 17th, 1994 was the day of the infamous O.J. Simpson car chase. What were you doing in 1994? I’m guessing somebody is going to tell me they weren’t born yet but that’s part of the fun of the Hodgepodge. Lots of generations are represented here.
I can tell you exactly what I was doing – watching Game 5 of the Knicks vs Rockets basketball finals. I was mistaken, however, when I said the Knicks lost that game – they actually won, although the Rockets went on to win the series and championship. In any case, my ability to watch the game was interrupted by the slow speed police chase and if you think I was annoyed by that, you’d be correct.
2. What’s your favorite summer salad that isn’t the traditional tossed green lettuce kind of salad? Do you like fresh fruit in a salad (other than in a fruit salad of course)?
Summer salad makes me think potato salad, pasta salad, or cole slaw. I don’t prefer fruit in salad.
3. Is chivalry dead? Should it be?
I think politeness from anyone towards anyone else should continue.
4. Would you rather spend a week of your summer vacation in Hawaii or Alaska? Have you ever been to either? Are they two places you really would like to see? How do you feel about ‘Hawaiian pizza’ aka pineapple on a pizza? Have you ever eaten Baked Alaska?
I would choose Hawaii since I really want to go back. I’ve been to both Hawaii and Alaska! We went to Hawaii in 2001 and Alaska in 2002. I actually have Alaska pictures saved on my computer!

I’ve never had pineapple on pizza and I’m not sure if I’ve had baked Alaska.
5. World Cup play is happening now…are you interested? Watching any matches? Did you or your children play soccer/futbol? There are eleven US cities hosting matches-
–Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York with the stadium in NJ, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle
along with three cities in Mexico (Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey)
and two in Canada (Toronto and Vancouver)-
You get free tickets to one of these matches. Which city do you choose? Tell us why.
I’m semi-interested because we live in Kansas City. It’s been interesting to see the hype vs what actually happened. There were apparently a lot fewer people traveling here than expected. Dave and I went to FanFest this weekend to check it out.
I got some compliments on my shirt!

Simon used to play soccer, but he quit. I remember him watching the World Cup games the last time around. I wonder if he’s interested now. If I got free tickets I’d either go here, or want to travel to Mexico or Canada, I suppose.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
The boys went camping with their friends. I feel sorry for Simon, because all of these kids will be gone this coming year, even the one who is younger than him. I think he’ll miss them all!

Tell me your answer to any of these!
