For the past few years, I have casually taken part in the PopSugar Reading Challenge. By casually, I mean that I did not plan out ahead of time what I would read for each prompt, but after I finish a book, I look through the prompts and see if the book could fulfill one of them. I keep track of them on my reading spreadsheet, but I have never shared my progress anywhere. I thought this year it would be fun to take a look at the prompts I have filled and share which books I used to fill them.
Prompts Filled in January:
4. A Book By A First Time Author: The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff
5. A Book With Mythical Creatures: Thistlefoot by GennaRose Nethercott
7. A Book With “Girl” in the Title: The Girls Who Disappeared by Clare Douglas
12. A Book Published in Spring 2023: Off The Map by Trish Doller
15. A Book With a Song Lyric as its Title: Friday I’m In Love by Camryn Garrett
16. A Book Where the Main Character’s Name is in the Title: The Mostly True Story of Tanner and Louise by Colleen Oakley
22. A Book With a Queer Lead: Behind The Scenes by Karelia Stetz-Waters
28. A Book You Bought Secondhand: Something Like Happy by Eva Woods
30. A Book That’s on a Celebrity Book-Club List: The Measure by Nikki Erlick
34. A Historical-Fiction Book: The Circus Train by Amita Parikh
I probably won’t fill all of the prompts, but I may keep sharing the ones I do fill here!
