It’s the end of December so it’s time to look back at our month in review. This post won’t include the actual end of the month though with our winter break trip to Florida and I’ll share that in separate posts, plus I will have a year in review post sometime next week.
Daily Life
This month seemed to go by very quickly. Gabbie was busy preparing for her winter show and Zachary and Gabbie both had finals. During the last week of school before break, Simon got sick again. This time with Covid. He was not very sick, but he was very annoyed that he couldn’t hang out with his friends.
We dog sat for Ozzie and Duncan and then Winnie came back for a few days before we left for our trip.

Holidays
We celebrated Hanukkah. We were home for the very beginning of the holiday and then we left for Florida. More to come about that!
There is a mirror behind the candles which makes for some interesting photos.
School
Simon has continued to struggle in math. We worked hard together on an English essay and he did very well on it, but I’m not sure he would do as well without my help. Zachary got all As besides in two classes this semester and he was happy with himself! Our upcoming goal is to get both boys assessed for educational and emotional issues and see if they qualify for test taking accommodations, specifically for the issues with writing.
Gabbie is almost done applying to colleges. I’m not sure when we will know where she decides to go! But stay tuned for that in the new year!
Activities
Gabbie has of course been busy with dance. We loved seeing her in the Jewish Nutcracker. Next up is competition season. Zachary has his youth group trip this weekend. Simon has been busy with bar mitzvah lessons plus math tutoring!
Health / Fitness
After reporting last month that my IT band was hurting, it turned out not to be that after all and was more likely a sciatic nerve issue. I had a lot of pain for most of the month until I got some steroids, which helped a good deal. I also had an MRI. I have not been able to exercise at all this month.
TV
After my shows ended for their breaks, I started watching one called Fire Country. I also started watching an Apple TV show called Puppy Place, about two kids who foster puppies. Simon got into watching it with me as well. And then I started watching Kindred. It’s based on a book, which I haven’t read but I think it’s pretty different from the book.
Books
I’ve been reading some lighter reads this month and have been happy with many of them. I shared the first half of my December reading here and will be sharing my favorites from the month this Friday (will be delayed due to travel issues). Plus, tomorrow I’ll share my year end favorites! You can always see book reviews and more on my Instagram!
Photography
I’m not sure if I should continue 52 Frames this coming year as I have really not been motivated and my pictures aren’t very good lately. Here are my pictures from weeks 47-50.
