It’s almost the end of December, so it’s time for a look back. I’m writing this before our annual winter break trip to Florida, and this year we’re also headed back to NY for another wedding. I’ll post about those things in January! But for now, a look back on (most of) December.
[daily life]
We arrived home from our Thanksgiving trip (after a big delay in the airport) and got back into our regular schedules. I went to a few social events, worked at preschool, and went to a few appointments. We celebrated Hanukkah, although there seemed to be less events going on this year than usual.

We also watched a cute little dog who will be with us again in January.

[school]
Simon had two weeks of school and then finals. It’s so strange how little school they actually have each quarter! He is still trying hard and up until finals he had mostly A’s in his classes.
Gabbie finished her semester and flew to Israel for winter break. She’ll be there for a month, and then she’ll come home for the end of break. It makes me happy when my kids are together and I think Zachary is really happy to get to spend time with her!

[activities]
I went to a hot chocolate bar and bracelet making event, an author event, a birthday party, a book group holiday party, and a wedding shower. We also went to the Chiefs game. Simon went to a youth group Hanukkah party at a new go-cart place, and then he and Dave went back there together too.

[health]
I had a weird thing happen early this month – I was reading, and suddenly my eyes couldn’t focus right on the words. It was like my eyes were bouncing from one line to the next. I told Dave and he got all worried and said I should go to the eye doctor. I made an appointment for that afternoon. Meanwhile, it seemed to get better and I also went to the chiropractor and did some errands. The eye doctor concluded it was an ocular migraine, which I had only just heard of before that on a TV show! I still have remnants of the cold I had on Thanksgiving, so at first I thought this was related to the cold, but the doctor said it’s just random!
[tv]
I watched the show All Her Fault, which felt like a good thriller in show form – it is based on a book, but the book doesn’t have amazing reviews! Then I started watching Little Disasters, another family type drama.
[coming up]
Winter break, with the above mentioned trips, and then back to normal in January. I can’t believe this year is over! I’m planning to publish a year in review post next week, so look out for that!
How was your December?
