Dave and I took a mini trip to Cabo San Lucas this month. We had hotel points to use and Dave had the Southwest credit card with a companion pass, so the flight was free for me. The boys are old enough to stay home alone. And our trip was quick – only two nights away from home. We left at 3:30 AM to get to the airport for a 5:55 AM flight. It was Superbowl Sunday so a lot of people on our flight were connecting to head to the game, but we weren’t the only ones in Chiefs shirts that were flying to Mexico!
Trying to take a photo of the sunrise from the opposite side of the plane – hopefully the person sitting there didn’t think I was taking a photo of them!
We had prearranged a ride from the airport to our hotel and this was my first glimpse of the mountains in the area.
We stayed at the Waldorf Los Cabos Pedregal and it was a beautiful resort!
This is the view from our room – the water in front is a pool! Every room has a dipping pool!
The bathtub which we didn’t use – you could sit in there and have a view straight to the ocean.
This was my first glimpse of a whale! We were there in whale season and there were a ton of them, though hard to spot.

We took our first walk to the marina. This is part of the resort:

We went down to the pool for a bit.
The start of the game. It was also playing on a big screen by the beach but we started out in our room.
When we went to sit by the big screen the sun was setting.
The game was awful and we were tired from getting up so early, so eventually we gave up and went to bed. As I mentioned previously, waking up to a view like this helped my spirits!
Our only full day in Cabo was full of adventure, so I will pick up there next time!
