The past few weeks have been hectic and this post is just a wrap up of some of the things that have occurred.

Two weeks ago, my friend texted me that one of our beloved school had passed away. He had been sick previously, but I was surprised by the news. I have known him since Gabbie started kindergarten, as his youngest daughter was in her class. He was the high school principal at the time. When he got sick, he cut back to being the college guidance counselor and a teacher as well – Zachary had him for Stats, Physics, and as his college counselor. He truly cared about every student and pushed and encouraged Zachary to do his best in everything. This is his obituary, and this is a quote from it that I shared on my Facebook:
“Why just learn about equations of motion when you can build trebuchets? Why just learn about Jewish and African-American solidarity during the Civil Rights Movement when you can create social justice partnerships with area schools and develop a Civil Rights Trip through the South?”
Dave, Simon, and I went to his funeral, and Gabbie and Zachary both watched it online.

Dave and I went to Florida for a few days to see my parents. My mom is having health issues and my dad is having a lot of stress. I’m not sure being there helped much, to be honest. I will be going back again next month. We did get to eat out at two restaurants while we were there. At the first one, we just had appetizers:

And at the second, I had a drink and brisket.

Also in Florida, we saw a rainbow.

Have a great weekend!
