Another month coming to an end – I can’t believe summer is over and school is back in session! Here’s a look back at our August.
Daily Life
This month was less busy than July, but it also consisted of a lot of socializing! Zachary was away for about 10 days and Gabbie left for school while he was gone, so the house has been quieter. We watched three dogs for one-two weeks each, and we had people visitors throughout the month as well.

Activities
I went to aqua Zumba, met the author duo Ali Brady, went to the Oz Museum, took Simon go-karting for his birthday, and went to the Indigo Girls / Melissa Etheridge concert! It was funny, I actually wanted to see the Indigo Girls and that’s why I wanted to go to the show, but I ended up barely knowing their songs. I had thought I knew maybe one Melissa Etheridge song that annoyed me, but I ended up really liking her set and enjoying her rock! Plus, I knew multiple songs, including one that I remember really liking back in the day and maybe not knowing that it was her that sang it (Like The Way I Love You).
Our seats were high up, but we moved around a bit, and ended up near the front with a friend of my friend who had an empty bunch next to her.

I also went to Bingo at the Brewery for a friend’s birthday – like I said, lots of socializing this month!
School
Simon started 10th grade. I keep forgetting that I only have one kid at school now! Zachary is still here – he leaves on the 31st. But Gabbie left and will be moving into her new dorm / apartment today. She starts classes on Tuesday – actually that’s when Zachary’s program starts as well!

Health
Nothing much for this category this month. I would mention that my weight has actually been staying steady, instead of gaining every month like it had been. I wish I could lose a bit though!
TV
I watched the show Untamed, which was good. Now I’m just about done catching up with The Dog House Australia. I’m not sure what I’ll watch until regular shows start up again though!
Reading
With all of my socializing, I’ve read less than normal (for me) this month! I have six more books in the stack I set aside for this month – lol! I’ll be sharing my top reads of the month this Friday.
Coming Up
In September I’ll be visiting my parents, watching a few dogs I’ve watched before, and the holidays will be starting! Plus, I’ll officially be down to one kid at home – so weird!
How was your August?
