Hanukkah passed us by pretty quickly and we had a good time. It was difficult in some ways to celebrate, especially while seeing the non stop antisemitism all over social media. Here’s a quick recap of the holiday.
Night One:
On the first night we had a community menorah lighting.
We lit our menorahs at home too.
Night two:
Night three:
I had a picture of the boys lighting but Zachary didn’t like it and didn’t want me to share it.
Night four:
I’m not sure what happened here. Simon is lighting by himself, he must not have been home when the rest of us lit the other menorahs, but I don’t know why I didn’t take an earlier picture! We went to a party that night too, and I don’t have any pictures from that.
Night five:
Night 6:
We had a fun party this night with this amazing charcuterie spread.
There were latkes on it – my first of the holiday!
Plus, there was a latke contest. The boys and their friend were a team and they won runner up for best latkes!
Night Seven:
Note the extra menorah – Gabbie is home! This is the first year where we all lit our own menorahs. If you look closely, you can see I messed up on mine (the black and white one) and only lit 6 days worth of candles.
Dave made latkes which were so good and chicken for dinner.
Night Eight:
One less menorah again – Zachary left for NY for his summer trip reunion!
That’s a wrap on Hanukkah 2023!
