Kansas City goes all out for our sports teams and when they win, things get even more exciting. You can see my previous posts about the Royals World Series parade and the last Chiefs parade in 2020! As we did in 2020, we went downtown to check out our Chiefs Kingdom on the day of the Superbowl. It was pretty happening!
For the Super Bowl itself, I was sad that we weren’t invited to watch with anyone. The boys were and they went to their friends’ house, but Dave, Gabbie, and I watched at home. We had a good time anyway!
The celebration parade was yesterday and all the local schools closed since everyone always attends our parades! It was cold but I don’t think it was as cold as last time. First stop, coffee.
We walked across the lawn that would later be full of people!
Here people were already claiming spots.
We walked to a spot along the parade route.
Here’s where we ended up.
Eventually the parade started.

No idea who these guys are
Took this picture by accident
This is the Hunt family (Chiefs owner) and Andy Reid.
Butker – the guy who kicked the field goals that won the championship game and the Super Bowl.
The guy in the white jacket and hat is Travis Kelce. That was the best I got.
Here’s what the ground looked like after the people started dispersing:
We made our way back to the rally, where it was totally packed. And they forgot to grease the poles.
Got a picture of Kelce through someone else’s phone. And he may have been recording the big screen rather than Kelce himself!
Got this one of Patrick Mahomes on the screen. He was in the parade too, but we didn’t see him till the bus passed us and I didn’t get pictures like I did last time!
From there it was just trying to make our way back to our car, along with everyone else there!
It was a fun day in Chiefs Kingdom!
