I had mentioned that we have been baking challah and I got a few questions – about what challah actually is and about how we bake it. Challah is a kind of bread used for meals on the sabbath and holidays. It is usually sweet and is similar to egg twist rolls. The loaf of bread is usually braided. We have used various recipes, but the one we use the most was given to us by the youth group that my kids are a part of – NCSY.

On this list, I am sharing the books I have already read, as well as those I am hoping to read, that are on my antiracist reading list. Today I am focusing on non-fiction, although I do have some fiction books in mind to recommend on a future list. I hope that you will consider reading some of these books as well.

View PostOn our way back to Kansas City from Wichita, we visited the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, KS. My older kids had been there previously with school, but Dave and I hadn’t been there yet and neither had Simon. The Cosmosphere is a space themed museum “featuring the largest combined collection of U.S. and Russian space artifacts in the world and telling the comprehensive story of mankind’s race to space unlike anywhere else on Earth.”

Today’s post is a list of fiction (adult and YA) books with Jewish representation that are being published in 2021. I am sure this is not an exhaustive list, but I am happy I found as many as I did, as Jewish representation is not something I often see in the books I read. Also, this is only through June, so maybe I will do another list for the second half of the year when it is closer!
