Welcome to the Share Our Lives link up hosted by myself, Adrienne, Jen, Joanne, and Sarah! We are sharing our lives this year on the second Monday of each month, and this month’s prompt is a day in the life, summer edition. I know everyone loves a good day in the life post, but for one thing, my life is pretty boring, and for another, I decided to stop choosing a specific day to write about after something bad always seemed to happen on whatever day I’d choose! So this is just a run down of what a normal day in my life is like – right now.
– I have a weekday alarm set for 6:45. This gets me up and going before the kids leave for the day, and gets me ready for the morning without feeling behind.
– Once I’m up, I check my email, instagram, and the news. I play a few daily NY Times games. I drink my coffee and check blogs. I eventually work on my blog post for the next day. Gabbie and Zachary are working and they leave at about 7:45.
– At the moment, Dave has to help me with showering (having one working leg makes things difficult). Dave works from home two days a week and from the office 3 days a week, so on the days where he goes to the office, I usually shower a bit earlier.
– Once I shower and get dressed, I go back to blogging, or if I’m finished with that I might read a bit. I post on Instagram. At some point I will start feeling hungry and make breakfast. These days I’m eating oatmeal with blueberries most days. There have been a few times where Simon has made me an egg. I will also drink another cup of coffee at this point.
– If things were normal, I might do errands or go to appointments during the morning, but since I can’t drive (or walk!), these days I’m spending my mornings reading.
– I usually eat lunch around 1 pm. And then more reading. I have been getting more restless and having times where I’m tired of reading and then I scroll on my phone and get annoyed at myself for doing that.
– Gabbie and Zachary come home around 4:30 and Gabbie will talk to me for a bit then. Dave comes home around 5:30 and makes dinner.
– Normally after dinner we’d take a walk, but I refuse to let Dave take me for a walk in a wheelchair. It’s too weird.
– In the evening I watch TV and then listen to an audiobook until I’m tired or it’s 11 pm. Then I go to bed (and read my print book until I fall asleep). Now maybe you can see how I read so many books each month!
If you wrote a post about a day in the life, summer edition, you can link up with us here! And come back next month when we’re sharing our least favorite activities.
Do you have days that are mainly different or are they more repetitive, like mine?
