It’s the end of the month so it’s time to look back at March in review. I feel like my life is pretty boring these days, but that might be a good thing!
Daily Life
Since my life seems to be punctuated by dogs, here are a few of the ones I watched this month:
Bo the poodle was my first successful Rover dog. He stayed for 6 days and was a good boy.
I’ve been picking up Simon at school again because Zachary got a job at the after school program so he’s not taking Simon home anymore. One of the days Bo came with me for the ride.
He also found a nice place to sleep during the day.
This past week Ozzie and Duncan visited again, and Murray was here a few days as well.
Starting this weekend I have another dog through Rover so I hope it goes well too. I’m also meeting two dogs (sisters) for possible care in July, but someone else asked me to save some of the same dates for her dog so I have to see if she’s actually going away or not!
I substituted two mornings at the preschool where my boys went. I’m happy to help out there when I can but I don’t want to actually work there! They also asked me to do another day but Gabbie had an orthodontist appointment so I brought her there instead. She was home for a week plus for her spring break. She got to be here for Purim as well.
Simon and his friends went through my costume closet. The banana and the Mario Kart costumes are old ones of Simon’s!
School
The boys are doing ok in school. I found out that Zachary is taking the AP Stats test – I wasn’t sure because we didn’t sign him up, but I guess the school does it automatically! Simon remembered to bring his science fair board to school when I didn’t remember myself, so that was impressive! Gabbie came home for spring break and decided who she will be rooming with next year. It’s a girl whose mom I met over Facebook and we arranged for them to meet as possible roommates. I hope that works out for them.
Activities
Simon has kept busy biking. Zachary is busy working 4 afternoons a week. He also goes to youth group activities just about weekly too. Simon helps me when I volunteer at the school cafe after school on Tuesdays and I’m already thinking about the week he has play practice – I won’t have anyone to help me then!
Health / Fitness
Gabbie got a cold during her spring break so I had to take her to the doctor (thinking it was the flu, but it wasn’t). I threw up after a party at my friends’ house even though I only had one drink. Sigh. Zachary went to the orthodontist and still is wearing Invisalign through the summer, it seems. Gabbie also went to the orthodontist and they said her teeth and retainers are fine.
I’ve been going to barre class (and Gabbie came with me one day too) but now the teacher isn’t there this week and maybe next week too and the teacher I don’t like is substituting, so I’m not going. And I’m still struggling with my weight, of course.
TV
I started watching the sweetest show. It’s from the UK, called The Dog House. It’s about this huge shelter that has families coming in and they match them up with a dog to adopt. Then they show whether or not the match worked out for the families. I’m also watching the regular shows that I enjoy – 9-1-1 is back, so I was excited about that!
Reading
My reading this month has been as expected for me! I shared the first half of the books I read here and I’ll be sharing my monthly favorites on Friday.
Coming Up
April will bring Passover and Gabbie will be back home for the holiday! I have dogs scheduled for the first half of the month. Looking into the upcoming months, I have dogs schedule about half the time! And we booked our summer trip – we’re going to Israel as a family. The women’s trip I was supposed to go on in October is now supposed to happen in December, but I’ll be there sooner than that now! We are starting to discuss how that trip will look for the 5 of us!
How was your March?
