The shelter where I volunteer opened a cat cafe called The Second Cup and when Simon was off from school last week (before he got sick) we decided to check it out. For $15 each you can hang out with lots of cats for an hour. It also includes a drink, but don’t expect anything fancy – the price is truly more of a donation for the time spent with the cats. They are all available for adoption and I think meeting them in this location is a great way to decide on a cat you’d like to adopt! I was a little nervous since I’m allergic to cats, but I didn’t have much of an issue while there for an hour and would have stayed longer if allowed. Simon and I were the only people there so we got a lot of attention from the cats!
Simon sat on the couch and was surrounded by cats right away.
I sat on the floor and soon had a cat curled up in my lap! Plus other trying to get close to me – I can’t stop laughing at the black cat’s face.
Now, we had a plan that Simon would work on his English assignment while we were at the cafe. Let’s just say that didn’t quite work out. Can you tell that we don’t know cats very well?
Eventually we just went back to playing with the cats and we worked on his assignment at home.
These cats were tired! And cute!
Have you ever visited a cat cafe?
