It’s the end of the month so it’s time to look back at May in review. It was a rainy month and I was trying to get over being sick for much of it. Here’s a look back at the month.
Daily Life
We had dogs all month again, from my two regulars to a new older dog and then a favorite former foster dog!
I went on a weekend away with my friends who I was supposed to go to Israel with back in October. We had a fun time.
Today, my family and I are leaving for Israel. I may or may not be updating / checking in on blogs while I’m away.
Birthdays
We celebrated Dave’s birthday this month. Simon and I made him this cake which we had at a friends’ house where we were invited for dinner.
School
Gabbie finished up her first year of college and moved herself out of the dorms.
The boys finished up as well and we celebrated Simon’s 8th grade graduation. The kids spoke about each year of school so far. Simon did 3rd grade. He said he also helped write the part for 1st grade, in which the speaker mentioned how their class used to have 35 kids and that didn’t quite work out. Of the 12 kids in his class now, he’s been with 6 of them since kindergarten and 2 more were in kindergarten, left for a few of the years, and came back later.
After school the Kona Ice truck came.
Zachary has been working on the college application process and took the SAT and an AP test! Can’t believe the boys will be in 9th and 12th grades in the fall.
Activities
Zachary did sound tech for the high school play. After school ended, he left on his spring youth group trip. When we get back from our trip, he and Gabbie will be working at the J Camp. I don’t know what Simon is doing all summer.
Health / Fitness
After being sick and busy, I went back to the gym a few times this month. I am doing a weight lifting type class once a week now. I’m still mostly feeling better with the way I changed up my diet, but I’ve had a cold / maybe allergies this whole month.
Simon went to the dermatologist because he has a large mole on his chest (he was born with it) and they wanted to monitor it, but now they said he can come back in two years.
TV
I’ve mainly been watching some of the shows I enjoy on TV, like Tracker, Alert, 9-1-1, Chicago Fire, and Chicago Med. I’ll probably need something new to watch when those shows finish for the season!
Reading
Reading has been slower for me again this month. I shared the first half of my monthly reading here and will share my 5 star reads on Friday – although I haven’t had too many this month!
Coming Up
I have had a lot less to blog about lately, but I’ll have to share all about our Israel trip once we get back!
How was your May?
