Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I’m joining in for Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce.
1. On January 18th we commemorate A.A. Milne’s birthday. Milne is the author of the beloved classic Winnie the Pooh. In many ways Pooh represents innocence and simplicity. His optimism reminds us to appreciate the little things. What are three little things you’re appreciating in mid-January?
Great question! I’m always grateful for the same few things – my kids hanging out together, coffee, and books! If I was to try to come up with more unique answers, maybe I’d be grateful for our heat inside on these freezing cold days, a friend for organizing a lovely group gift, and a for a scary situation not being worse.
2. Piglet teaches us even the smallest of individuals can achieve big things with the proper amount of determination. How do your current responsibilities make you feel?
Most of the time I feel a lot of anxiety over little things. I’m still trying to remember that when things seem stressful due to scheduling, they usually work themselves out. I’ve recently embarked on a new dog care job through Rover and last night I met a possible walking client. I was nervous yesterday because I’ve never gone to a house to meet a dog (and owner) before! But by the time you read this, it will have happened already!
3. Tigger is known for his enthusiasm and energy, his boundless joy and love of life. What’s something you’re interested in learning more about in this new year?
I don’t think I have a specific thing I want to learn about, but I always like when new things come up and I learn about them naturally, usually through books I read!
4. Eeyore, while a melancholy character, teaches us the importance of resilience and perseverance. How do you stay motivated and persevere in difficult circumstances?
Usually with the help of loved ones.
5. What’s the last thing you ate that was made with honey?
Last week I made a salmon and broccoli recipe that included honey, but I didn’t have enough honey in my pantry! So I’ve since bought more.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Of the scary situation mentioned above – my first Rover dog boarding didn’t go well. The dog was fine at first, although maybe a little uncomfortable with our family coming and going from the house. He would bark at us each time. But then he decided he hated Dave and was snarling at him with his teeth showing. The owner had to get someone to pick up the dog and I felt really badly, but at least he didn’t actually bite anyone!
Tell me your answer to any of these!
