This summer, Gabbie is attending a month-long trip to Europe and Israel. The first 10 days were spent in Italy. That actually includes today, so I’m sharing what she has sent me so far!
On the first day of the trip, we dropped her off at a synagogue near the airport, since we were leaving to fly home a bit before she was supposed to go to the airport for her trip. (Originally her flight was earlier and the timing was right.) Because we dropped her off there, she met some of the others who had flown in early and needed a place to hang out before the trip and she became friends with them, so that worked out well!
Ready to go!
The group actually flew into Geneva, Switzerland, so they got to start out there.
They drove to Milan where they stayed overnight and the next day they took a boat trip to Isola Bella on Lake Maggiore where they saw a baroque garden and museum.
The next day they walked around the city of Milan and visited Italy’s oldest mall.
The next stop was Venice.
After Venice, they moved on to Florence. They didn’t see much in Florence but from there, they visited Pisa.
In Florence itself, they visited the Great Synagogue there.
The final stop in Italy was Rome. On the first day in Rome they visited the Colosseum.
Yesterday, they actually went even farther than Rome, to Pompeii.
And they visited Mt. Vesuvius.
It seems like they’ve gotten a good taste for the country of Italy!
