On Friday, my boys were off school, so we decided to check out the Kansas City Automotive Museum in Olathe. This museum was opened in 2014 because Kansas City was the largest metropolitan area in the country without a public auto museum. We were the only ones visiting the museum while we were there and we were given our own private tour. The boys really enjoyed looking at all of the old cars!
The guide asked if we knew what this was and Zachary knew right away that it is a solar powered car.
There is a changing exhibit each month, and this month featured motorcycles. Believe it or not, this is an old motorcycle!
The newest car was the 1991 Corvette.
There was an area where you were allowed to touch car parts. According to the website, there is also an interactive area on the 2nd floor, but we did not know that so we didn’t see it!
Another cool touch was the jukebox. We told it to play “Kansas City” and then Zachary told it to play the most popular song, which was “Pretty Woman.”
We had a fun time checking out the museum!
