Starting where I left off in Florida Trip Part 1, on Sunday morning Gabbie arrived in Miami after spending two weeks in Israel, so we headed to the airport to pick her up. It was a rainy day, so our plans to visit the beach were thwarted, but we started off with breakfast / brunch at Zak the Baker.
We got donuts there as well.
We drove around a bit and this was my rainy view.
We stopped at another bakery and checked out even more donuts.
I wanted the dreidel donuts but we didn’t get one of those.
We headed back towards where my parents and in-laws live and we stopped at Green Cay, the boardwalk area where we like to look at birds and alligators. No gators this year, but there were a few iguanas. I neglected to bring my longer camera lens this year, so I didn’t get a lot of great pictures.
This bird was spotted by some bird watchers and they said he was hard to spot, so I took a picture. He is under the fan shaped leaf.
We headed back to my parents’ house and we lit the menorah for the 5th night of Hanukkah there.
I had to dig up this old picture since we kind of recreated it here.

Unintentionally color matched.
From then until the next evening I took very few pictures, but we had dinner and slept and went to the pool in my parents’ neighborhood, as the weather finally warmed up. On Monday evening, Gabbie and I took some sunset photos.
And that night I did take a picture of dinner. I had pasta with salmon.

6th night of Hanukkah:
On Tuesday, we said goodbye, as we decided to spend that night, which was New Year’s Eve, at a hotel by the beach, so that we could all be together for at least part of this trip! But we couldn’t leave before playing cards with Grandpa!
Once again, color matching!
And then Dave’s day wanted the kids to come swimming in his neighborhood, so we did that as well.
I will share about our vacation within our vacation next time!
