It’s time for my final Florida wrap up post. When I left off last time, we had left Key Largo and were headed back towards my parents’ house. We stopped for lunch at a really good Israeli place!
We headed straight to the pool in my parents’ neighborhood, where we met up with my brother and my niece and nephew! It is so amazing that after not having seen them since before Covid, we were able to see them 3 times in 2023. I hope that keeps up this coming year too. Everyone got in the pool but me – it was actually warm outside!
Once the sun started to set, we went back to my parents’ to get ready for dinner.
I haven’t mentioned that it was our anniversary that day! So we made reservations at a restaurant for us, my brother, my parents, and Dave’s parents. Dave’s parents share the same anniversary as us too. We had fun at dinner and for dessert, they brought us cheesecake with a sparkler in it.
My brother also took this picture of me and Gabbie and Simon.
The next day, Gabbie left in the morning for a program she attended in CT. The rest of us went to my parents’ place for their annual party for all the visiting grandkids. There was a car show and a petting zoo.
My kids were a little old for it so Zachary went swimming instead! From there, we had to leave for the airport. But first we picked up food for dinner.
We had switched from a flight with a stop to the non stop due to delays, but they didn’t assign pre-check status to the boys and we almost had to wait in a really long security line, but they let us through. Then we were flying with my friend’s twin daughters who are 12 and we kind of used them to get on the plane with family boarding! All in all, we made it back home just fine.
And that’s it for this year’s Florida trip recap!
