Recently houseparty.com invited me to host an Ortega Fiesta Flats House Party in honor of the Super Bowl. Using the products that came in my party pack, I was able to make a few awesome dishes and I thought I’d share their details here! I ended up making two dishes for a lunchtime get together and 3 dips for the Super Bowl Party I attended.
Recipe #1: Mrs. Dash Crock Pot Chili
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground lamb
2 cans red kidney beans
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 packets Mrs. Dash Chili mix
water
Brown the meat. Combine all ingredients in your crock pot, adding water to fill. Cook on low for as long as it takes for the water to absorb (we cook ours overnight).
Shown here with chicken and rice – chili is on the lower part of the plate!
Recipe #2: Layered Dip
1 can refried beans
1 container sour cream (we used non-dairy)
1 package Mrs. Dash Taco Seasoning mix
1 package guacamole
1 cup salsa
shredded lettuce
shredded cheese (we used non-dairy)
Spread a layer of refried beans at the bottom of your pan. Mix together sour cream and taco mix and spread this on top of the beans. Next, spread the guacamole, followed by the salsa. Finally, top with shredded lettuce and cheese.
Mixing the sour cream and taco mix
Served in Ortega Fiesta Flats. These are brand new – like tacos but flat – easier to hold and eat!
Recipe #3: Mrs. Dash Dips – Ranch, Garden Vegetable, and French Onion
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 packet Mrs. Dash Dip Mix
(The recipes are the same for each of the 3 dips)
Like the cool football platters and bowls I found at the Dollar Tree?
Of all of the Mrs. Dash mixes we tried, I liked the taco mix the most, followed by the French Onion. But my favorite product was the Ortega Fiesta Flats! Have you tried them yet?
