Here are some of the projects Zachary made for Yom Kippur, which begins tonight and lasts through tomorrow night, but first a picture of Zachary and his friends from pre-K, now big kindergartners:
Jonah inside the whale – we read the book of Jonah on Yom Kippur
An I’m Sorry card – but it says “My dad dropped his siddur (prayerbook) and I picked it up for him.” Not something he’s sorry for!
A rooster puppet – some people believe in a ritual transfer of sins to a rooster before Yom Kippur.
Non-leather shoes (we don’t wear leather shoes on Yom Kippur) – on the left our Zachary’s which are for a doll, and the right are the ones Simon made!
Also, here are some more pictures of Simon at school!
Reading books – and pretending he’s a dog!
I hope everyone observing Yom Kippur has a meaningful and easy fast. Thanks everyone for reading!
