Gabbie considered writing about changing schools her sophomore year of high school, but is now writing about being at the Jewish Community Center on the day in which a shooting took place. How To Get Started Writing Your Essay

She suggests starting with visual imagery including descriptive words, a random fact or question, or dialogue. Fine Tuning Your Essay
One of the things that Lindsay wants Gabbie to add and adjust in her essay is descriptions of how she felt. I think that Gabbie is struggling to put herself back in the scary event she experienced when she was much younger, but if she is able to access those feelings, she will be better able to share this story about herself and make her essay stand out.
