A few of the blogs that I follow do a really cool challenge called $10 at Target. The idea is to spend $10 and only $10 buying fun items at Target. Let’s see how I did this month!
First of all, this month was a small fail, because I really wanted to find cloth reusable tote bags to use for the welcome gifts I am creating for out of town family members coming to Gabbie’s Bat Mitzvah. The only ones they had were either Disney Princess, Dr. Seuss, or Target themed, so I decided to buy the bags elsewhere. Instead, I used (part of) my $10 for the items that we are putting inside the bags!
Hand Sanitizer – $1.52
Water Bottles – $.25 each, at least 2 per bag, $.50
Tissue Packs – $.29 each
Starbucks Via Packets – $.75 each, at least 2 per bag, $1.50
BelVita Biscuits – $.75 each, at least 2 per bag, $1.50
Herbal Tea – $2.29
Total = $7.60 (but bear with me…)
Because Target didn’t have what I was looking for as far as bags go, I ordered these bags from Amazon.
$1.25 each.
I also really wanted to include some sort of fun puzzle that people can play with. I decided to go with Amazon on this as well.
$.87 each puzzle.
New Total: $9.72 per bag!
We also put wraps on the water bottles!
Each family will receive one bag, but I am including the appropriate amounts of the food items for the family members attending, so the totals aren’t exactly right. I am also including a schedule of events and a map indicating our house and our synagogue! What do you think? Have you ever received a welcome bag when attending an event away from home?
