I received a copy of Sleepless In Manhattan by Sarah Morgan from TLC Book Tours in exchange for my review. A story of friendship, independence, and romance, I really enjoyed reading this book. Because of the story line, I wouldn’t call it solely a romance novel, but I most definitely found the romance in the book appealing.
“Cool, calm and competent, events planner Paige Walker loves a challenge. After a childhood spent in and out of hospitals, she’s now determined to prove herself—and where better to take the world by storm than Manhattan? But when Paige loses the job she loves, she must face her biggest challenge of all—going it alone. Except launching her own events company is nothing compared to hiding her outrageous crush on Jake Romano—her brother’s best friend, New York’s most in-demand date and the only man to break her heart. When Jake offers Paige’s fledgling company a big chance, their still-sizzling chemistry starts giving her sleepless nights. But can she convince the man who trusts no one to take a chance on forever?”
Paige lives with her two best friends, Eva and Frankie, and her brother Matt in Brooklyn. The book begins with Paige expecting to be promoted at her event planning job, but instead she is fired. With the help of her friends and the encouragement from Jake, who is also Matt’s best friend, she starts her own company. Paige is so independent that she despises asking for help, but she finally turns to Jake, who runs a successful business himself. He hires Paige’s company and gives them the break they need. At the same time, both Jake and Paige are trying to hide from how they feel about one another. Their relationship is slower to take off than the business, but when it does, it’s romantic and wonderful to read! The end of the story even had me tearing up!
While there is no cliffhanger here, Sarah Morgan’s From Manhattan With Love series continues with love stories for both Frankie and Eva, and I hope I will get to read those as well.
