Two of my recent craft projects have been copies of ideas I have seen repeatedly on various blogs and on pinterest. However, I did one thing slightly differently than the ideas I have seen, which is why I am sharing them here! When my projects needed fabric, I repurposed old clothes.
The first project is a jewelry display. When you search jewelry display on pinterest, many similar ideas appear, such as:

I decided to make my own when I spray painted a 25 cent garage sale picture frame and could not get the glass back into the frame. What makes my project unique is that I decided to use an old sweater as the fabric backing of my display. This sweater even has sentimental value because Dave gave it to me as a gift. I wore it until it had holes. And now it hangs on the wall!
This is the frame with the sweater cut to size and glued in.
The back is a bit of a mess, but it doesn’t matter!
I used cup hooks and pushed them into the top of the frame.
Here it is, on the wall, with necklaces!
The second project that I completed is a fabric covered bulletin board. Again, this idea can be found on pinterest:

I decided to use thumb tacks instead of upholstery nails, and for my fabric I used a skirt that I no longer wear!
Have you ever upcycled old clothing?
